Girl Guides are Back!!

The Guiding Movement is back in the Twillingate- New World Island area! We're excited to be back and ready to get up and running. While the 2011-2012 year is late starting up we're already planning a lot of exciting events for your girls. Due to our enrollment numbers, this year the Sparks will be meeting at the same time as the Brownies this year. This should give us enough girls to participate in fun games as a large group, and also the oportunity to split into small groups to work on our branch programs.

A few notices to get us started.

Cookies

We're late getting aboard the cookie band wagon this year, but we will be asking each girl to sell 3 boxes of cookies to friends/neighbors. Fall is the season for our Thin Mint cookies, and these sell for $4 a box. Cookie money is due back on November 23, 2011.

Uniforms

Spark uniforms consist of a pink Spark shirt and a pink badge sash. The tshirt retails $12.95 and the sash $5.50. You can purchase your own uniforms online here. Or you can bring me our money and we'll order them as a group. Please try to order uniforms by November 23, 2011, so your girl can have it for the enrollment ceremony. The Spark Activity book cost $4.95, but please note Sparks do not require the activity book and we will not be using it at meetings.

Please remember to formal events such as enrollment, church services, and our banquet we request that our girls do not wear jeans. To general meetings jeans are fine!

Enrollment

Our enrollment ceremony will be on November 30, 2011 from 6:30-8:00 at the TIE gym, and both parents and grandparents are invited. Due to the fact there wasn't a Spark troop in Twillingate-New World Island in 2010, all of the girls in Sparks will get enrolled this year.
